Comparison of contrast medium and atrial pacing as tests of ventricular function in coronary artery disease.

چکیده
Ventricular function curves were constructed in 39 patients having coronary arteriography by plotting left ventricular end-diastolic pressure and stroke work index before, during, and immediately after atrial pacing. Similar curves were constructed from measurements obtained before and 3 minutes after a standard left ventricular angiogram. Both methods vary preload sufficiently to produce detectable changes in stroke work index, atrial pacing by decreasing the diastolic filling period, and contrast by increasing venous return. The 2 methods were compared for their relative sensitivity in detecting abnormal ventricular function in coronary artery disease. Atrial pacing ventricular function curves were obtained from 8 patients with no heart disease. The left ventricular end-diastolic pressure decreased from

Prognostic value of right ventricular myocardial performance index in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery
Abstract Background: Right ventricular myocardial performance index (RVMPI) is a Doppler–derived parameter of non-geometrical ventricular function that measures both systolic and diastolic functions of the right ventricle. The aim of this study is to compare prognostic value of RVMPI with global RV function in patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). Methods: In a longitudinal ...
متن کاملIncidence of Atrial Fibrillation after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery and Its Risk Factors in Shiraz, Iran during 2017-18
Background and Objectives: Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common disorientations after coronary artery bypass graft surgery and can affect the chance of survival in the first year after surgery. The present study aimed to determine the incidence of atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass graft surgery and its risk factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on...

متن کاملAtrial Pacing and Exercise in the Evaluation of Patients with Angina
The anginal threshold was determined by atrial pacing in 23 patients with coronary artery disease. Twelve of the 23 subjects also performed supine exercise at progressive workloads until the onset of angina. Atrial pacing produced a fall in left ventricular stroke work index and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP); cardiac output increased, and, with the onset of angina, left ventri...
متن کاملComparison of Treatment Outcomes in Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Graft and Medical Therapy in Patients with Triple-vessel Coronary Artery Disease and Severe Ventricular Dysfunction
Introduction: Heart failure is a major hazard for public health. Despite recent advance in medical therapy, there is not enough information on the outcome of off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) and medical therapy on the patients with severe ventricular dysfunction and triple-vessel (CAD). This study aimed to compare treatment outcomes and mortality rate in patients undergoing off-pump coro...
